royal vacuum cleaner

One of the most recognizable royal vacuum cleaner brand names in the world is Dirt Devil. The company still holds true to the standards it was founded on at the beginning of its long, storied history. Dirt Devil was founded as the P.A. Geier Company in 1905, making it one of the world's oldest vacuum cleaning manufacturing companies. The P.A. Geier Company produced metal cleaners from a backyard garage in Cleveland, Ohio. The "Royal Prince" the first ever handheld vacuum cleaners in the industry, was introduced in 1937.

The Walter E. Schott Organization is an investment group that bought the P.A. Geier Company in 1953. The company name changed to Royal Appliance Manufacturing. Soon after that, the Royal Appliance Manufacturing was bought from the Walter Schott Organization by a group of employees headed by Stan Erbor.

The first household vacuum cleaner with a feature called the patented Cyclone system was built in 1955. The suction was increased and the cleaning experience was more thorough with the addition of Cyclone technology to vacuum cleaners. The headquarters of Royal Appliance Manufacturing moved from Cleveland to Highland Heights, Ohio in 1969. The leadership of Stan Erbor was a great advantage for the company. He remained a strong influence on the company until 1981, when he passed away.

The Royal Appliance Manufacturing Company was purchased by a small group of investors after Erbor passed away. Fresh sales and marketing strategies were implemented and a mass market line with plastics cases started being sold. The Dirt Devil Hand Vac was introduced in 1984. It sold more than twenty-five million units, making it the largest selling vacuum in the United States. The Dirt Devil Hand Vac is Royal's signature product.

Upright vacuum cleaner, other handheld vacuum cleaner, stick vacuum cleaners, canister vacuum cleaners and carpet shampooers are also manufactured by Dirt Devil. The Ultra Hand Vac which is a newer model of the original Dirt Devil Hand Vac was introduced in 1996. The best selling stick vacuum cleaner in the United States, the Broom Vac, was also introduced. The Dirt Devil BV2030 Broom Vac has nine color options, a longer battery life and more suction. The newest update of the original Hand Vac was introduced in 2005. It is called the Dirt Devil Classic Hand Vac and brings Dirt Devil's operations back to its bestselling roots.

After a long string of owners, the Royal Appliance Manufacturing Company was purchased for the final time to date by TTI Floor Care North America in 2003. This Hong Kong based firm owns various other vacuum cleaner manufacturers as well. TTI stands for TechTronic Industries.
